A range of Coaching Aids designed for the development of young and senior cricketers alike:

Tesson Ltd is the UK's sole distributor of Kanon bowling and coaching machines.

Now with electronic remote start and stop, serving simulator, variable shot pattern and spin/swing adaptor it is the 'Premier' model. With a capacity for 90 balls it ensures that training and practice sessions last longer without the interruption of refilling the machine. The use of the Kanon creates the kind of bowling environment which young batsmen rarely face at club level and which will develop their batting skills to the highest level.

Many games are lost and won out on the field and unlike other bowling equipment the Kanon has proved unrivalled for fielding practice allowing players to hone their skills for high and slip catches.

The Kanon can be used away from a mains power point for up to approximately 125m (410ft) and can also be successfully powered using a 220/240 volt 1.5kw generator with a frequency stable at 50Hz .

We should add that the Australian distributor is OTB Products Pty Ltd. and New Zealand is Qualpro Ltd. (Us) :)

Takapuna no one-hit wonders by FELICITY REID
Proving they weren’t one season wonders Takapuna Cricket Club is the first to achieve back-to-back Hedley Howarth trophy titles.
Last season Takapuna broke a 20-year drought when they easily claimed the Auckland club cricket two-day championship title and coach Neil Fletcher admits there was pressure to retain the silverware.
“We snuck through the back door last year. But this season teams knew we were a reasonable side.”
Takapuna got their two-day season off to a flying start with two outright victories in the opening two rounds against North Shore and Eden Roskil.
We played really well at times and had not so good days in between,” Fletcher says of the nine-round season.
With only one match getting any play on a soggy last day of the season, Takapuna held on to their slender lead at the top of the points table and became the only team in the competition to win successive titles.
“It is the nature of cricket that days could get washed out during the season at the beginning, middle or the end, but it is the accumulation of points across the season that matter.”
Fletcher points to a couple of individuals who played a big part in the team’s success – big hitting batsman Craig Cachopa and fast bowler James Cowell.
With the retirement of frontline bowler Paul Hitchcock, Fletcher says Cowell stepped up to lead the attack and was rewarded with a season haul of 51 wickets.
Picking up 17 batting bonus points when playing in front of their home fans at Onewa Domain, Takapuna made the most of their short boundaries and flat wicket.
Cachopa – Fletcher describes him as having a “stellar season” – cashed in and became the top run scorer in the competition.
The premier reserve side also claimed their two-day title with Fletcher saying the club is in good stead.

Rebound-suppressing gel finds its way into new sport shoes
April 5, 2010
"Our clients include shoe designers and manufacturers who are constantly testing and researching new, more effective materials to protect the feet and legs of their customers" - "particularly young athletes. In response to their quest for ideal shock-absorbing materials in skateboarder shoes, we have developed Gpact II, the next big thing in shoe technology".
Gpact II dramatically reduces rebound and subsequent multiple shock to the heels of skate jumpers. Gpact II is flexible and conforms to the shape of the heel, but stiffens instantly on impact, dissipating the shock impact traveling into the foot. View demonstration here.
